T O P I C R E V I E WredshiftJust saw on astro forum, someone did a comp chart with her father to see if it described the sort of man she might be attracted to since our parents tend to make the strongest first impression of what we associate with gender roles. So her guess was that a mix of her father's chart with her own, might speak of what she is looking for. I tried it and it shocked the crap out of me as it really accurately described the type of man I like.My comp with my dad was a Cap sun/merc, moon in Leo, Mars and Venus in Pisces and Scorpio asc. This is scary, scary, scary close to my ideal man. Someone capable and competent and steadfast , with warm, open, generous emotions and a gentle manner in love, but sexy as all hell.Have you tried this, or if you are a guy, a comp chart with your mother? I know it sounds creepy, but I'm wondering what other people find.VenusDiSiriusChecked,it has merit- Scorp Sun,Lib Venus, strong outers. My dad is Aqua,I have Sun/Uranus,H5 Aqua,so my astro heritage goes directly to my natal.sweet-scorpionWow Red, this is such a cool concept. I've never thought to try this but I did today. I'm pretty sure my dad is a Leo rising so I was able to calculate but I'm a little split on what the accuracy of ours is. Well, if his ASC/time is pretty accurate then I see as you did, some scary similarities in what I have with my current love interest who has made a huge impact on me. I also see that it really goes with who I end up wanting and who I'd probably desire. My comp with my dad has a Libra Sun conjunct Pluto in H1; Libra rising; Leo Moon trine Uranus and Jupiter, square Sun and Mercury and Mars; Mercury, Venus and Jupiter all in Scorpio; Mars in Taurus; MC in Cancer. My love interest has an Earth Mars, in Virgo; Sun on his rising sign Leo; Moon square Mercury and Sun in his natal chart. So some definite likeliness there. His rising as Leo would potentially make me emotionally comfortable with him... his outward identity. We also have my Saturn falling in his 7th in our synastry and Libra rising in our composite chart. In general I find Scorpio Suns mysterious and incredibly attractive which is where I see the Sun-Pluto conjunction play into it all. My current BF has a Scorpio Moon too. enchantress299Oh that's so weird!!! So I did the composite between me and my father, and the composite put the Sun, Venus, Moon, and Chiron into Gemini, along with Mars into Scorpio. I dated a guy who had Sun, Venus, Moon, and Chiron in Gemini and a Scorpio Mars. That is so freaky!!! The thing is, I never really felt like that guy was my 'ideal' of what I wanted a guy to be. He ended up being a cheater anyway, and so I dumped him totally. redshiftYeah, maybe it's not our ideal, but what we are subconsciously attracted to? Although, in my case, it does seem to be my ideal. In fact, in the composite, the big three were Capricorn, Leo and Scorpio and the past 3 significant others I've had, including my husband, have had at least 2 of those in their big three also!My husband is a Leo sun with Scorpio moon and virgo asc so that's pretty close, being earth like cap. Crazy huh?FaithHmmm...this guy would be a Sag with his sun right on my Venus. So that confuses things. Never dated a Sag so I have no idea how that would work. However, my husband's Saturn is right on my Venus, and therefore it's also on the composite sun of me & my dad.The guy would have a Taurus moon or Scorpio moon...I like that! And he would have Venus conjunct Neptune just like me. Two fools for love. Yeah, perfect!!! redshiftWow! It's so interesting! I'd love to have more people give it a try to test it out. So far, it's looking like there's really something to it huh? Faith: About never dating a Sag...have you had any significant Jupiter contacts or big 9th house stuff going on with your husband or ex partners?Ceridwenhmm, it partly works for me, but not in entirety.I am strongly drawn to SAgittarius-placements, but these do not occur in the composite with my Dad.However, that composite has Sun, Mercury and Venus in Capricorn, which makes sense. Moon in Pisces and Mars conjunct Neptune in Scorpio which makes sernse, too.I find it a bit creepy though that the composite Venus is exactly conjunct the Venus of a guy I have quite a bit a crush on. And composite MOon is exactly conjunct his ASC.enchantress299 quote:Originally posted by redshift:Yeah, maybe it's not our ideal, but what we are subconsciously attracted to? Crazy huh?Well, the thing is, Gemini falls mostly into my 7th house anyway (but Taurus is actually on the Dsc), so I feel like I usually attract people with some sort of air influences for that reason alone. Often Gemini, but not always. The last few guys that I've had minor flirtations with have had air signed Venuses, Marses, and Moons (though not Suns), even if they weren't Gemini. I've dated guys on the Gemini/Sagittarius axis, but for some reason I've never really felt as drawn to them as I have, like say, the water signs that I've dated. If I had an ideal though, I've always felt like it would be an earth sign with air undertones because they seem to understand and mesh with me a lot better than a SUPER airy person (like the one described by the composite). Every friend/relationship I've had with super airy people always goes south because they aren't reliable, and I need some sort of reliability/stability in my relationships. So yes, a SLIGHT bit of air/Gemini I can handle, but the extreme that the composite shows usually sends me running (particularly after that experience I had with the super Gemini guy). I would be curious to look more closely at the major aspects that are shown in the composite between me and my father and see how much that factors into my relationships as well. I haven't got a chance to delve that deeply yet, but I will hopefully soon... FireMoonYeah, the composite with my dad kind of freaks me out lol. Most planets are clustered together with Uranus exactly conjunct Jupiter- to the minute. Then Sun, Mercury and Venus are tightly conjunct in Scorpio. Venus conjunct NN, Moon in Sag. Not many harsh aspects other than Mars in Leo square Venus and Saturn square Uranus-JupiterThen there's Chiron tightly conjunct SN (ick, not surprising though considering the problems we've had- unfortunately I have this natally too)I guess I would say Scorpio does describe the type of men I'm attracted to, and the relationships I've had so far. Which I don't mind, I have venus in H8 so I've accepted that I need and want intense relationships, just striving for the higher expressions of Scorpio from now on lolMoon in Sag is fitting since it's conjunct my own natal moon and I am definitely attracted to guys with Sag qualities. I also have Mercury, Juno and Vertex in Sag so it's actually really important to me to have a partner who has an open mind, who I can explore life with, travel with, etc. And so far I've mostly been attracted to guys with fire moons lol anyway interesting idea! Family synastry is always the most fascinating C1ND3RSun conjunct Venus in Cancer with Jupiter conjunct Mercury also in Cancer.. Jup and Merc square Uranus and Sun/Venus square Pluto.I don't get it.I've only ever met one guy with sun and venus conjunct in Cancer that i swooned over... redshiftGreat responses everyone. Very very interesting. Enchantress299, you actually dated your composite...wow. I know it ended up sucking but isn't that strange how that matched up?? I need to look further into the aspects of mine too, to try to understand connections a bit more. I'd love to be updated if you find anything interesting. Maybe it will make more sense than all the air indicated for you?Ceridwen: That is so strange about the exact conjunctions. I hope it doesn't freak you out Firemoon, wow, your composite man description sounds like one intense dude!C1ND3R, what are the moon, venus and asc of your composite? Do they make any sense with your vision of an ideal? If you take the aspects out and just generalize by the signs of the big 3 and mars/venus, what do you come up with?C1ND3RThe moon is in taurus in the same area as the Cancer person had their mars.. The rising is the same as my nat and the Cancer but the Cancer has it in late derees.. Mine is in the middle and the comp has it very early. My Venus is also in Cancer so, i don't know.. It's almost like looking at myself, kinda. How self absorbed am i?Faith quote:Originally posted by redshift:Wow! It's so interesting! I'd love to have more people give it a try to test it out.
